Steve Wooten, KC0QMU, the Emergency Coordinator
presided over the monthly meeting of the
St. Louis County ARES® group on
February 9, 2009. The Meeting was held at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.
Steve welcomed several vistors to the meeting. He said that St. Louis County
ARES® now had 88 members. He urged
everyone to promote the group.
Steve said that he; Craig, K0CMH; Craig, K4LSU; and Jim, N0OBG performed
a demonstration for Central County Emergency 911 at their offices. The
CCE911 people liked what they saw, and Steve drafted a MOU. He is waiting
for approval of the MOU from our DEC, SEC, and SM, after which he will
sit down with the CCE911 personnel to discuss what services we can provide.
Steve said that he had requested a meeting with the Veterans Administraion
management staff to discuss the procedures and the MOU
written for the VAMC.
Steve asked for more volunteers to join the Planning Committee.
Steve said that St. Louis County ARES®
will hold a message handling exercise on
February 28, 2009 between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Instructions will
be emailed and posted on the Web site.
Craig Klimczak, K4LSU, gave a presentation on
Learning Unit 1 of the
ARECC Level 1 course.
Craig Hirsh, K0CMH, gave a presentation on
All About Big Batteries.
